Description
Vine Villa, Inglenook Cottage, and an unnamed cottage adjoining to the west of Inglenook Cottage are three cottages that form a row, dating back to 1680 as indicated by the inscription above the entrance. There have been 19th-century alterations and additions. The cottages are built of mixed red and calciferous sandstone rubble and have a graduated greenslate roof with ashlar chimney stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high and has two bays, with the left house being a 19th-century addition, all under a common roof. Vine Villa, located on the right, features a 20th-century door and side-light window set within 19th-century stone surrounds. It has three-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows and one smaller window. Inglenook Cottage displays irregular windows, including two small chamfered-surround windows, a large upper-floor window, and upper and lower floor three-light stone-mullioned windows. The unnamed cottage has a plank door and sash windows in 19th-century stone surrounds. A left lean-to garage is not of interest.
