Description
Miller's House, located to the south-east of Acorn Bank Mill, is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later additions. It is constructed of squared, snecked rubble and features rusticated quoins. The roof is made of graduated slate, complete with stone copings and kneelers, and there are stone and brick chimneys at each end. The front of the house is symmetrical, with two stories and three bays. It has a central panelled door with a rectangular fanlight set within a rusticated doorcase. There is a single sash window on either side of the door and three above, all featuring glazing bars within stone surrounds. To the left, there is a single-storey wash-house that is set back, and to the right, there is a single-storey late 19th-century extension that includes a panelled door and a hipped roof, also set back.
