Description
Waver Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, located in Barrow in Furness. It is constructed of deeply-coursed dressed sandstone, which has been painted, and features a graduated slate roof. The building stands two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. At the rear, there is a three-quarter outshut that includes a porch at the rear-right angle.
The front wall has a 20th-century glazed porch that encloses a wide opening. On each side of the porch, there are six-pane sash windows with projecting sills and raised ashlar surrounds. On the first floor, there is one 16-pane sash window and two 12-pane sash windows, all treated similarly to those below. The gable ends have copings, and there are roughcast stacks at the ends and a ridge stack to the left of centre. Inside, there is a stone stair located within the outshut.
