Description
Number 99, now a shop (empty at the time of survey in April 1984), is a house built in the late 18th century as a town house for the Greenhow family of Stainton. The building features ashlar stonework with end pilasters on the ground floor, a band between the ground and first floors, and an eaves cornice. It has a graduated slate roof and rendered end chimneys. The structure is three storeys high and has three bays. The entrance includes a panelled door with a bracketed cornice, and to the right are two tall 20th-century windows with glazing bars. To the left is an elliptical-headed yard entrance with a double wooden gate. Each upper floor has three sash windows with glazing bars.
