Description
North Lodge and gate piers to Holker Hall are likely from the early 19th century and possibly designed by George Webster. The building is constructed of roughcast stone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. It is a single-storey structure with a north elevation that has two bays. The gables are coped, with the eastern gable featuring a finial. The windows have splayed reveals and label moulds, and the cross-casements include iron glazing bars arranged in octagon and square patterns typical of the Holker estate. The entrance also has splayed reveals and a label mould, leading to a panelled door. The east gable end includes a window similar to those on the north side. At the rear, a wing with three bays contains small-paned casements and an entrance. A low wall to the north connects the lodge to round rusticated gate piers topped with domed caps, while the original railings have been replaced with timber palings.
