Description
Thwaite Flat Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone and has a graduated slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three windows on the first floor, with a ratio of three to one. It is likely that the house and cottage have been combined. There are two gabled porches with 20th-century doors, flanked by six-pane sash windows that have thin sills and raised surrounds. The first-floor windows are in the same style. The eaves have oversailing verges, and there are stacks at each end and to the right of the centre. At the rear, there is a stair outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
