Description

St Mary's Cottage is a small house, likely dating from the early 19th century, and originally two cottages. It is situated on Church Street in Dalton in Furness. The exterior is rendered with ruled stucco and has a cement-tile roof. The house is two storeys high, with three windows on the first floor. A canted bay window with plain sash windows is situated on the left-hand side, flanked by doorways with hoods and a plain sash window with a segmental arch. The first floor has three plain sash windows, the one on the left being smaller; the sills project outwards. There are six stone gutter blocks. A stack is located on the left-hand end on the party wall with No.4 Church Street, and a limestone stack on the party wall to the right. The house is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the street.
