Description

Cambeck Bridge is a road bridge that spans the River Irthing. It was built in the early 19th century, likely for the Brampton to Longtown Turnpike Trust or the County Council. The bridge features rusticated red sandstone ashlar and has two round arches supported by a single pier. This pier includes rounded cutwaters. The abutments are pilastered and have a string course below a shaped parapet. The approaches on either side of the bridge are constructed with red sandstone walls, while the inner parapet has a snecked ashlar face.
