Description

Irthing Bridge is a road bridge over the River Irthing, likely built in 1729, with later alterations made for the Brampton - Longtown Turnpike Trust, which was established in 1807. The bridge is constructed of dressed red sandstone and features three arches supported by two piers with splayed cut-waters. It has a humped back and is designed for single track width.
