Description
Wythmoor House and the adjoining barns date back to 1783, as indicated by the date above the entrance, along with the initials J. & M.M. The property includes a 19th-century extension and outbuildings. The house features painted rendered walls on a chamfered plinth, with painted V-jointed quoins and a graduated greenslate roof topped with ashlar chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has two bays, with a single-bay extension to the left under a common roof.
The entrance consists of a six-panel top-glazed door framed by a painted eared architrave, which is adorned with a reeded entablature and a date panel beneath a dentilled pedimented cornice. The house has sash windows with glazing bars set in painted stone surrounds. The extension to the left contains dummy windows with painted glazing bars and a large garage door at the rear.
The lower two-bay 19th-century extension continues as a barn, featuring a projecting cart entrance and vented openings facing the road. The rear of the barn has external stone steps leading to a loft door. The barn is included partly for its group value with the house, while other outbuildings are not considered of interest.
