Description
Tollund House is a building that has been converted into offices and dates from the early to mid 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork with light headers, set on a painted chamfered stone plinth, and has a cornice made of calciferous sandstone at the eaves. The roof is tiled from the 20th century, with brick chimney stacks from the 19th century at each end. The building stands three storeys tall with two bays above a cellar.
The entrance is a left-hand panelled door within a painted stone doorcase that has brackets, accessed by external stone steps that turn at a right angle and are supported by twisted cast-iron balusters. The windows are sash types set in brick reveals, featuring painted stone sills and flat brick arches. Inside, the building retains much of its original detail, including internal panelled shutters, panelled doors, and moulded plaster ceiling cornices in the hall and principal rooms.
