Description
This is a house located at 43 West Walls in Carlisle, built in the early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a graduated Welsh slate roof, with 19th and 20th-century gable brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance consists of a panelled door topped by a radial fanlight, framed by a pilaster surround that includes false imposts and a keystone. The sash windows, which have half glazing bars, are set within red sandstone surrounds. The interior has not been inspected. Originally, this building was part of a terrace of two two-bay houses, but number 41 was partly demolished, resulting in the left windows of number 43 previously belonging to number 41, which led to the rebuilding of the gable wall.
