DEAN BRANTHWAITE NY 02 SE 12/98 Far Branthwaite Edge, 3-3-67 dairy and barn adjoining (previously listed as "Far Branthwaite Edge with adjoining buildings) II

Farmhouse, dairy and barn. Dated and inscribed J & SM 1683 over dairy entrance; late C18 barn. Roughcast walls, under graduated greenslate roof with original large roughcast stone chimney stacks and slate drip stones. Barn of mixed sandstone rubble with corrugated asbestos roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with left single-storey dairy and lower right 2-bay barn. 2- and 3-light chamfered cross-mullioned windows under cornices. Dairy has cross-passage plank door in painted stone architrave. Further left plank door in partly-chamfered surround. Barn has partly-blocked segmental cart doorway (each voussoir with mason's numerals) and plank loft doorway above. Casement windows in brick surrounds, replacing blocked doorways, under slit vents. House has rear 2-bay span with C20 sash windows in C19 painted stone surrounds.
