Description

Wadsworth Farmhouse is a 18th-century farmhouse, with additions and inscriptions dated 1735 and 1794. It is constructed of calciferous sandstone rubble with an eaves cornice and flush quoins, topped by a graduated greenslate roof and brick and rendered chimney stacks. The farmhouse has two storeys and originally comprised four bays, with a two-bay span to the rear. A 20th-century door is set within a painted stone surround on the rear side, with a blocked doorway to the left. The ground-floor windows are enlarged casements, some retaining original 18th-century stone mullioned surrounds. Upper-floor sash windows have glazing bars within painted stone architraves. A return wall to the rear has a top-glazed panelled door in a painted stone architrave, along with two Venetian windows. The rear wall features ground-floor flat cross-mullioned windows in painted stone surrounds. Adjoining farm outbuildings are not considered of architectural interest.
