Description
Moorleys Farmhouse, Cottage, and Barn, located to the northeast of How Man, is a farmhouse, cottage, and barn that was used for storage at the time of the survey in January 1984. The building features an initialed and dated panel above the house door, reading "DHJ 1731," indicating its construction date. The original structure is made of snecked rubble with quoins, while the house and cottage have been rendered. The barn has two extensions on the left, constructed from coursed, squared rubble with quoins. It has a graduated slate roof with a brick mid chimney and stands two storeys high.
The three-bay house has a central plank door set in a chamfered stone surround with a false four-centred head, flanked by windows that were originally two-light but have had their mullions removed. The first floor features two 19th-century windows, with the right-hand window retaining its original sill. The single-bay cottage to the right has a plank door and a narrow window above it. The barn to the left shares the same roof and includes two large wagon entrances and one plank door.
