Description

No 6 Market Place is a former bank built in the early 20th century. It features rusticated calciferous sandstone ashlar with decorative eaves modillions and an open baluster parapet, set on a quarry-faced red sandstone plinth. The building has a hipped slate roof topped with a lead cupola over the porch. It is a single-storey structure with three bays. The right side has a projecting porch that includes double panelled doors with a fanlight, all framed in a round-headed architrave with a false keystone. The round-headed windows are set in rusticated surrounds, also featuring false keystones.
