Description
Dairy Cottages is a row of four houses built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. They feature whitewashed sandstone rubble walls and roofs made of sandstone slate and Welsh slate, with stone and 20th-century brick chimney stacks. The three 18th-century houses on the right are two storeys high, each with two bays, and they slightly project into the road. The house on the right has a different roof line. Each house has plank doors with quoined surrounds. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set in rusticated painted surrounds. Houses 4 and 5 form a single dwelling on the left, which includes a post office extension. The entrance has a plank door in a quoined surround, while another entrance has been converted into a window. The windows in this section are slightly larger than those in the adjoining houses and have more heavily rusticated surrounds.
