Description
Low Nook is a farmhouse dated 1832, featuring the initials I. and M.B. above the entrance. It is constructed from squared and coursed calciferous sandstone rubble with raised quoins that have V-shaped joints. The building has a lead hipped graduated slate roof and stone chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and consists of three bays. The entrance has a six-panel door with a quoined surround, a keyed entablature, and a dated keystone. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed by plain raised stone surrounds.
Flanking the farmhouse are single-storey outbuildings, each with a hipped slate roof. The left outbuilding features large plank doors set in a round arch, while the right has a smaller square-headed door and a sash window with glazing bars. There is also a barn at right angles to the left, built of similar stonework, which has a plank door and a loft above, along with slit vents in the gable wall.
