Description

Church Cottage is a building that serves as a chiropodist's surgery and probation office, originally built as a cottage in the early 19th century, predating the existing church nearby. It is constructed of dressed red sandstone and features a graduated slate roof with a stone chimney stack. The building is single storey and consists of two bays. The 20th-century panelled door has a chamfered surround. The wooden two-light casements have trefoil heads and quatrefoil openings, with square leaded panes. The vicar believes the cottage survived because the owner refused to be evicted when the new church was constructed.
