Description

Fordsyke is a farmhouse dated 1765, featuring the initials CM on the lintel. It is built with English garden wall bond brickwork and red sandstone dressings, topped with a slate roof and a brick chimney stack. The house has two storeys and three bays. The entrance is a plank door with a chamfered surround. In the center, there is a double sash window without glazing bars, flanked by sash windows with glazing bars, and similar windows above, all with plain sandstone surrounds. The listing also includes an L-shaped red sandstone barn to the left, which has a Welsh slate roof, plank doors, and slit vents. There is a brick outbuilding attached to the rear of the house, but it has been significantly altered and is not included in the listing.
