Description

The gate piers and wall located north of Scaleby Castle date from the late 17th century. They are constructed of brick with sandstone dressings. The structure features two square brick columns that have recessed panels, standing on chamfered sandstone plinths. Each column is topped with a sandstone drip mould and chamfered caps that have ball finials. To the left, a high brick wall connects to the castle wall at a right angle. A similar wall to the right originally enclosed a small garden, but it has since been partly demolished and reduced in height.
