Description
Shankbridge End is a farmhouse with an adjoining barn, built in the late 18th century and featuring alterations dated 1836, marked by the initials J.P. above the entrance. The structure has sandstone rubble walls with large flush quoins and a graduated green slate roof, with part of the barn covered in corrugated asbestos. It is two storeys high and consists of two bays, with an L-shaped barn under a common roof. The entrance has a 20th-century door set in a stone porch, which features a dated and inscribed lintel. On the right side, there are double sash windows with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds, while the left side has sash windows with glazing bars in similar surrounds. The barn to the left includes ground floor entrances with plank doors, unglazed openings, and slit vents. There is a large projecting cart entrance on the left, flanked by slit vents, and a pent extension at the front left. The listing does not include out-buildings.
