Description
Soutermoor is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, built in the mid-18th century with early 19th-century additions and alterations for the Beaty family. The structure is made of squared and coursed sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof, along with rendered and brick chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and has four bays. The entrance includes a 20th-century door with a glazed fanlight set in a quoined surround featuring a keyed round arch. To the right of the entrance is a double sash window, while the other sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed in plain painted stone surrounds. There are also casement windows to the right that are 20th-century enlargements. Inside, the principal room showcases an early 19th-century moulded plaster ceiling, a moulded cornice, and a dado rail.
