Description
Milestone located on the south side of Elkington Stanford-on-Avon Road, probably from the 19th century. It is made of limestone ashlar and has a plain rectangular shape with an inscription that reads, "Stanford-on-Avon 2, Stanford Holt 2, Swinford 3, RUGBY, thro Lilbourne 8, thro Swinford 9." This milestone is situated next to the parish boundary of Stanford-on-Avon and forms a pair with another milestone nearby. It is similar to other milestones located on Stanford-on-Avon Road in Clay Coton.
