Description
The Methodist Chapel is a non-conformist chapel built in 1844, with a later 19th-century addition. It features red brick in Flemish bond on a limestone plinth and has a slate roof. The chapel has a single-cell plan and includes two 2-light pointed arched windows on the side facing the lane, which have timber Y-tracery. A similar window is located at the rear and on the right gable end. There is a plaque between the windows facing the lane that is inscribed with "WESLEYAN/CHAPEL/1844." The building has moulded brick eaves and an entrance through a single-storey brick extension at the right gable end. Inside, there is a gallery at the entrance end supported by slender square posts with simple capitals and a panelled pulpit. The chapel is included for its group value.
