Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to 1710 and 1715, with 20th-century additions. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with a slate roof and brick end and ridge stacks on stone bases. The building has an L-shaped layout and two storeys with an attic, originally featuring a two-window front. Windows on the front have moulded stone sills and surrounds, and are mostly equipped with two-light casements. A projecting wing to the right has similar surrounds, with a sash window on the ground floor and a blocked window on the first floor. A datestone within the gable of the projecting wing is inscribed “H.WE.1715”, while a datestone in the right gable end reads “H.WE/1710”. The main entrance is at the rear. Architectural details include a chamfered plinth, chamfered quoins, stone-coped gables with kneelers. The interior contains chamfered spine beams and a blocked open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer.
