Description
This outbuilding, originally a forge, stands approximately 5 metres northwest of Stone House. It dates to the 18th or early 19th century and was constructed in three phases. The building is a single-storey, three-bay range built of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, with a corrugated iron roof over an earlier straw thatch. The front elevation, which follows the road's course, has a wide plank door with an old wrought-iron hinge and a wooden lintel to the left of the centre, and a shuttered window with a wooden lintel to the right. The left gable end is constructed of red brick. The roof features a collar truss structure.
