Description
Stone House is a house dated 1813, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a 2-unit plan and stands three storeys high, with a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel part-glazed door, which is topped by a stone lintel and key block. The ground and first floors have 16-pane sash windows, also with stone lintels and key blocks. A datestone inscribed "R/WE.1813" is set into the centre of the second floor. The second floor has 20th-century plate-glass windows, which are framed by stone lintels and key blocks. The house features quoins and dressed stone bands at the lintel levels of the door and windows. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension with a lean-to roof.
