Description
Church Farm is a house that was originally a farmhouse, dated 1675, with alterations and partial rebuilding in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with ironstone dressings and banding, topped with a slate roof and featuring brick end stacks. The building has a three-unit through-passage plan and is two stories tall with a four-window range.
To the left of the center, there is a four-panel door with a stone surround and a Tudor-arched head. Above the door is a date stone made of ironstone, which features a four-leafed clover and the initials T/IE above and T/TM below. The section to the right of the door is banded with ironstone and includes three-light wave-moulded stone mullion windows on both the ground and first floors. The ground floor windows have hood moulds and relieving arches made of alternating limestone and ironstone blocks.
To the left of the door, there is a three-light wood mullion and transom window on the ground floor, along with three-light casement windows on the first floor, which have stone jambs and lintels. The building features ironstone quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Inside, there are chamfered spine beams and a large Tudor-arched stone fireplace with cut spandrels.
