Description
Wardington Gate Farmhouse is a house built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and features a slate roof with brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with three bays. The central doorway has a stone lintel and a six-panel door that is partly glazed. To the right, there is a three-light wood casement window with a stone lintel, and to the left, there are similar two-light windows, as well as more two-light windows on the first floor. The left side has a half hipped roof, while the right side has a coped gable end. There is a lower extension to the right that dates from the 18th century and uses similar materials, featuring two storeys and two bays. A further extension to the right, dating from the 19th century, includes stone mullioned windows. The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse is one of the Edgcote estate farmhouses and is similar in style and date to Trafford Bridge Farmhouse.
