Description

Goviers Cottage and Dyndors are two houses built in the early 18th century, constructed from squared coursed ironstone. They feature a steeply pitched 20th-century tile roof, with brick ridge and end stacks. Each house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall.

Goviers Cottage has an approximately central entrance that includes a four-panelled door with a continuous wood lintel. To the right of the door is a two-light wood casement window, and to the left, another two-light wood casement window, both with wood lintels. On the first floor, there is a two-light and a three-light metal casement window set in wood frames, featuring lead cames and wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs, along with chamfered wood lintels. There is a rectangular, tiled bread oven projection to the right of the door.

Inside, the cottage has an inglenook fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a bread oven, also with a cast-iron door. Additional features include a chamfered beam, plank doors with strap hinges, and a wooden winder staircase.

Dyndors, located to the right, has an off-centre entrance to the left with a plank door and wood lintel. The ground floor has two 20th-century windows with chamfered wood lintels, while the first floor features three false dormers with 20th-century windows. The interior of Dyndors has not been inspected.
