Description

A pair of cottages dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with an artificial stone slate roof and brick stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and five bays wide. Number 7 has a central doorway with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century door, flanked by windows, also with wooden lintels, containing three-light iron and wood casements. Two-light 20th-century casements are on the first floor. Number 9 has a doorway in the right bay with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century door. A 20th-century window is to the right, and a three-light window with a wooden lintel and iron casements is to the left. In the left bay is a wooden lintel indicating a blocked window. Traces of another blocked window are above, and two windows with three-light iron casements and wooden lintels are to the right. All windows have leaded panes. The interior was not inspected.
