Description

The Malt House (11A) is a pair of houses dated 1696 and 1766, located in Aynho. The house on the right (No. 11) is two storeys with an attic, and has two bays. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a slate roof and brick stacks. The central doorway has a 20th-century door, flanked by three-light windows with wood lintels and iron and wood casements, all with leaded lights. A datestone marked BTS/1696 sits above the doorway. Two hipped dormers have wooden casements and leaded lights. A rear extension features a datestone marked EB/1766 in the gable. The interior has been remodelled in the 20th century. The house on the left (No. 11A) is two storeys and three bays, featuring a 20th-century doorway flanked by three-light windows with leaded lights. There are similar two- and three-light windows on the first floor, with wood lintels, iron and wood casements, and leaded lights. A one-light window is located in the left bay above a wall-mounted GvR post box.
