Description
Dove Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, which was remodelled in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with a slate roof and flanked by brick stacks. The building has two storeys and features three bays. The doorway, located in the second bay from the right, has a wooden lintel and a 20th-century door. There is a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel in the right bay, although the left jamb has been rebuilt in brick. To the left of the entrance, there is another two-light casement window with a wooden lintel, as well as a one-light window with a wooden lintel in the left bay. On the first floor, there are two-light casement windows with wooden lintels. All windows have 20th-century wooden casements. The left side of the cottage has been partly rebuilt in brick. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature stop-chamfered spine beams, and it is said that the original roof structure remains intact.
