Description
The K6 telephone kiosk, designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, is located at the corner of Manor Road and Glebe Road in the village of Staverton. This kiosk is situated within a Conservation Area and is surrounded by several 18th-century houses made of local ironstone. It has a strong visual connection with three nearby listed buildings: Holly Cottage and Dover Cottage, which are approximately 25 meters and 30 meters to the east, respectively, and Stonedge, located about 30 meters to the south.
The K6 kiosk features a standardized design made of cast iron, painted red, with long horizontal glazing in the door and sides. The crowns on the top panels are applied rather than perforated. There are rectangular white display signs that read "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow curved roof.
Inside, the glass is intact, and the kiosk contains modernized telephone equipment, which is not considered to have special architectural or historic interest.
