Description

The Old Hall is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building follows a two-unit plan with a five-window facade. A central six-panelled door is topped by a fanlight and a stone lintel with a keyblock. The casement windows feature wood mullions and transoms with leaded lights, all set beneath stone lintels with keyblocks. The corners of the building have rusticated quoins, and a flat string course runs between the ground and first floors. A moulded ashlar cornice sits above, and ashlar gable parapets are topped with kneelers. Stone stacks are located at either end of the building. A stone light at the front door is protected by an 18th-century wrought iron balustrade. The interior was not inspected but is said to contain six-panelled doors and panelled shutters in the ground floor rooms. There is fielded panelling in the room to the left of the entrance.
