Description

This chest tomb, dating from the 17th century, is made of limestone and is located approximately 6 meters north of the east corner of the north porch of the Church of St. Mary in Moreton Pinkney. The sides of the tomb are each carved with a cartouche that is framed by draperies and palm fronds. On the east end, there is a shield-shaped plaque featuring cherub heads and a skull, while a similar plaque on the west end is badly weathered. The top of the tomb has moulded edges and features a wide crack running from north to south. There is no inscription or date present.
