Description

No. 15 Duck End is a cottage dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is built from uncoursed limestone rubble and features a thatched roof. The cottage has two storeys and two bays. The doorway, located in the second bay from the right, has a wooden lintel, a plank door, and a 20th-century flat wooden hood supported by brackets. The original pattern of windows is preserved, along with some original wooden lintels, although there are also 20th-century metal casements. Inside, part of the raised cruck construction is exposed, and there is an open fireplace that includes a bread oven.
