Description
The Manor House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled in 1881 by E.F. Law. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with ironstone dressings and has 20th-century plain-tile roofs, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and features a five-window range. To the left of the centre, there is a four-panel door with a wooden lintel set in a 19th-century steep-gabled porch. The ground and first floors to the left of the porch and at the far right have two-light leaded chamfered stone mullion windows, while the other windows in the same positions are similar three-light windows. The ground floor windows have hood moulds. There are five gabled roof dormers. The house has an ironstone plinth with chamfered blue brick coping, ironstone quoins, a band of blue brick just below the eaves, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The Manor House forms a composition with the Manor House gateway and No. 2.
