Description

The gate pier to Boughton Hall, located approximately 25 metres west of The Old Griffin, dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features panelled sides topped with a lead heraldic animal. The gate pier was restored to its current position in 1972, although it was originally located at Boughton, and this position may not be its original site. It is one of a pair, with a corresponding south gate pier.
