Description
The Old Forge and the house attached to the west are two houses dating from the mid-18th century. They are built of squared coursed lias, with part of the structure rendered and topped with a corrugated metal roof. Originally, each house had a two-unit plan. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic, forming a three-window range featuring 19th-century sashes and casements, some of which have glazing bars. To the left of the centre, there is a four-panelled door with a simple 19th-century moulded wood surround. The left gable has ashlar parapets and kneelers, while the right gable has been partially rebuilt in brick. There are brick stacks located at the ridge and end. A rear wing, likely from the late 18th century, is made of brick and also features ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. The interiors have not been inspected.
