Description
A former farmhouse, now divided into a pair of houses, was built in the late 17th century and altered and extended in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a plain-tile roof and brick end and ridge stacks. It has an L-shaped layout. The two storeys and attic are lit by ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows. The main front, facing the road, has a two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to the right half (Manor Farm House), with hood moulds and a gabled stone porch to the right of centre, originally providing access to the entire building but now serving only Manor Farm House. The left half (Old Manor Farm House) has a three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to the left of centre with a wooden lintel, a similar two-light casement window further left, a three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to the first floor left of centre, and a similar two-light window to the first floor further left, all with hood moulds. A 20th-century extension with stone mullion windows adjoins the left end bay. The rear entrance is on the rear elevation. The right end bay features a stone-coped gable with kneelers. The right side elevation, facing the garden, has two bays of three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with hood moulds. A one-bay, two-storey-and-attic wing projects to the rear of Old Manor Farm House. Inside Manor Farm House are stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a cambered stop-chamfered bressumer, and a partly re-arranged dog-leg staircase with square panelled newels, finials, and splat balusters. Old Manor Farm House contains chamfered and ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, some original stop-chamfered joists, and an open fireplace with a cambered, chamfered bressumer. The roof is of collar-truss construction.
