Description
Flore Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1716, with alterations from the late 19th century. It is built of coursed squared ironstone and features a thatched roof, along with blue brick end and ridge stacks set on stone bases. The layout consists of a 2-unit central staircase plan, and the building stands two storeys high with an attic and a three-window range.
The entrance features a four-panel door with an overlight and a late 19th-century tiled hood on brackets, positioned to the left of centre. This door is flanked by three-light casement windows with timber lintels, set in shallow single-storey bays that rest on blue brick plinths topped with tile roofs. On the first floor, there are two-light casement windows also with timber lintels. To the right, there is a late 19th-century porch adjacent to a single-storey wing that projects from the right end of the house.
The farmhouse displays quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers, and a datestone inscribed with "RE/1716" is located in the left gable. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have chamfered spine beams.
