Description

This is a house, dated 1761. It is constructed of brick with a lias stone plinth and a slate roof. Originally designed with a 2-unit plan, it is two storeys high with an attic, and has a 5-window front. The central entrance features a part-glazed 4-panelled door set within a moulded stone architrave and bracketed cornice. The sash windows have moulded stone architraves with bracketed cornices on the ground floor. A string course runs between the floors. Corner pilasters are present, and the gables feature ashlar parapets, kneelers, and moulded cornices. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. The front facade was likely remodelled in the early 19th century. A datestone is visible in the left gable. A 19th-century extension has been added to the rear. The interior contains an 18th-century staircase with quarter landings, featuring two turned balusters to each tread.
