Description
Welford Congregational Church is a Congregational Church built in 1793. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. The church features a single unit design with a vestibule and a gallery at the west end. The elevation facing the road is two stories high and has a three-window range of casements, which are set under plain arches with gauged-brick surrounds. There is a central porch, which is in a similar style and features panelled doors, dating from the 19th century. The building has a corbelled brick cornice and a hipped roof topped with a large central conical ventilator. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have a gallery supported by cast iron columns and 19th-century fittings.
