Description
No. 30 West End is a house from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of cob, which is now rendered, and features a thatched roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan. The house has two storeys and a two-window range of casements with glazing bars. It has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with a central brick stack. There is a 19th-century extension on the right side that includes a 20th-century door and a slate roof. Inside, the two rooms to the left of the entrance have stop-chamfered ceiling beams, and there is an open fireplace in the room immediately to the left of the entrance. The first floor retains an original stud screen and some original roof timbers. This building is included as an example of cob construction.
