Description
Church House is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was remodeled in the 20th century. It features datestones marked JB/1686 in the left and right gables. The building is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and has a slate roof with flanking brick stacks. It is two storeys high with an attic and consists of four bays. The central entrance has a 20th-century gabled stone porch with a six-panel door set in a plain stone surround. On either side of the porch are window openings that were enlarged in the 20th century, featuring square stone hoods and two-light wood casements. There is a one-light window with a stone surround in the right bay on the first floor, while the other first-floor windows have wood lintels and consist of two- and three-light casements. The gable ends are coped, and there is a 19th-century stone extension to the right. The interior has been remodeled in the 20th century and includes chamfered spine beams. The house is included for its group value.
