Description

Staverton Court is an 18th-century house located on Church Street in Staverton. It is constructed of brick with a tile roof and features brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a total of four bays. The entrance, located in the second bay from the left, is framed by a porch supported by Tuscan columns and topped with a straight entablature. The doorway has a moulded stone surround and a six-panel door with an overlight and sidelights. To the left of the entrance is a 15-pane sash window, and there are two similar windows to the right. A brick string course runs along the first floor level, where there are 12-pane sash windows, although one window in the second bay from the right is blocked. The gable ends are stone-coped with kneelers.

There is a wing extending from the left side of the main house, which is likely also from the 18th century but was altered in the 19th century. This wing is made of coursed ironstone and limestone rubble, with a tile roof and brick stack. It has two storeys and three bays, featuring a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel in the left bay, a sash window in a brick surround to the right, and a similar window with a plain stone surround in the right bay. The outer bays on the first floor have two- and three-light casement windows with wooden lintels, while there is a blocked window with a wooden lintel in the centre. The interior has not been inspected. Staverton Court was formerly known as The Vicarage.
