Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on the north side of Church Street, Staverton. The building is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys high with an attic, and has three bays. A doorway is located in the left bay, alongside a window with a wooden lintel and a moulded stone hood. A similar window is present in the right bay. A small, boarded-over stone opening is centrally located. The right bay and the second bay from the right on the first floor feature two-light stone-mullioned windows. A 20th-century two-light casement window with a wooden lintel is found in the left bay, and a window with a moulded stone surround and a two-light wooden casement is located on the first floor to the right. An attic window has four panes and a wooden lintel. Notable features include a large central stack and a smaller stack to the left. The interior, which was not inspected, is reported to contain chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and an open fireplace.
