Description

A pair of cottages located on The Green, dated to the early 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with an asbestos tile roof and brick stacks. They are two storeys high and five bays wide. Number 1, on the left, has a doorway in the left bay with a wood lintel, a half-glazed door, and a corrugated iron hood. A three-light window to the right also has a wood lintel and an old iron casement. A similar window is located in the left bay on the first floor. 20th-century two- and three-light casement windows with wood lintels are present in the second and third bays from the left on both floors. The entrance to Number 2 is in the second bay from the right, featuring a wood lintel, a half-glazed four-panel door with a side light, and a 20th-century canted bay window in the centre. A two-light window with an old wood lintel and a 20th-century wooden casement is found to the right. Two one-light windows with plain stone frames are at mezzanine level to the left of centre. Two-light casement windows with wood lintels are on the first floor. The interior was not inspected. The cottages are included on the listing for their group value.
